  Great unit and complex. Clean & very well stocked w dishes, pans, appliances etc. The view was wonderful. We were in 421A, a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit. Roomy & comfortable. Nice pool & hot tub. Very reasonable price for Hawaii. We came here directly after spending 2 weeks in Kaanapali area where the traffic & congestion was awful. Will definitely come here again.

  This was a family vacation of a lifetime. We were at Maui Sunset for 6 nights of a longer vacation. We wanted a place that allowed our 21 and 16 year old children to have their own space. This unit had plenty of space and the most awesome view from the lanai.

  Everything was as expected. The description and pictures were very accurate and just as we expected. We had 5 people, 3 are teenage boys, and had plenty of room. The property is awesome. It is very well-maintained and shuffleboard, putting green, and tennis courts were fun to use. We needed a late checkout because of our flight and were helped with this without any problems.

  Excellent service and prompt correspondence from Wendi @ Kumulani vacations & Realty.
  With the threat of a tropical storm and not being able to fly off the island, Wendi contacted us, gave us her personal phone number and options should we not be able to fly out - and offered us alternative accommodation.
  421A is in a great location, but would benefit from new shower/bath fixtures as poor water pressure and dribbling water constantly in main bathroom. (hopefully this has now been fixed)
  Beautiful sunsets and grounds of Maui Sunset, good facilities and close to shops and restaurants. Favourite restaurant - Kimo's in Lahaina

  The resort is beautiful... right on the beach with a Boss Frogs activity rental outlet right at the resort pool. We paddle boarded and saw sea turtles right in front of our resort without driving anywhere. The pool and BBQ areas were immaculate with people cleaning each day. The condo unit itself had a spectacular view of the ocean and resort area. It is an older building but the unit was clean and had kitchen and bathroom upgrades. The living room area was very cozy and inviting for a family. There were plenty of beach chairs, sand pails and boogie boards left for us to use at the beach. The rental was easy to book and use, with night security helping us find our room and get checked in after hours. It was very quiet and there was security people patrolling throughout the day and night so felt very safe. The resort is a bit far from the shopping area to walk but was just a quick drive down the road. It did mean that the beach and neighbourhood weren't as busy though. The walks along the beach were beautiful in both directions from the resort. McDonald's and a Longs drug store and a few shops were about a 10 minute walk away. We would definitely look at staying at the property again.

  We had 6 days at Maui Sunset and absolutely loved it. The self contained units/condos are perfect for families wanting to keep costs real by including a bit of self catering. The condo was terrific, not brand new, but in very good condition and the owners/Kumulani were so generous in their provision of all sorts of things from coffee and filters, extensive line supplies and even beach chairs and toys. The beach location was perfect and the pool, tennis courts, BBQ's all added to the perfect stay. Our booking was straight forward and Wendi from Kumulani was great and so attentive. We'll be back again, thanks!

  Condo rentals at Maui Sunset, through Kumulani, were recommended to us back in 2005. We did some additional looking at websites, and decided to take that friend's advice. Our satisfaction with Maui Sunset, and with Kumulani's arrangements, must show in the fact that we have now stayed at Maui Sunset in ten consecutive years, and plan to be back again next year. The complex is very pleasant, well-maintained and quiet at night, and the units well-equipped for housekeeping. The location is conveniently close to shopping, to driving access to Kihei's snorkeling beaches, and to highways to other parts of Maui. We have stayed in seven different units, always checking the photos on the Kumulani website before making reservations, always choosing "ocean view", and have been generally quite happy with each choice. This was our second time in 421A...last year, the one nuisance was a non-functional washing machine, but that has been fixed and now works fine.

  Beautiful view. Amazing lawn. Unit has everything you could want and was in good condition. Nice swimming pool and helpful office staff. The paddle ball players are on the tennis courts very early but fortunately the bedrooms are at the back of the unit.
